Diving Safari from Hurghada
Diving Safari from Hurghada, on the Red Sea in Egypt, you have the opportunity to dive at about 40 dive sites. From shallow sandy lagoons to coral gardens to deep walls. Thanks to this, regardless of the level of training, every diver will find something suitable here. Hurghada Dive Center visits two different dive sites every day, all year round, sometimes three. We choose diving sites based on: the weather, the experience of divers and their interests. Very often we dive not only stationary, but also organize current dives or “pick up” drifts at dive sites without berths for boats. Thanks to this, you have a chance to dive where there are no boats from other diving centers and other divers. We love taking pictures underwater so divers, who share our photographic passion or want to develop in the direction of underwater photography will definitely have fun with us. Because we know the diving sites in Hurghada perfectly well, we know where we can expect specific fish or corals. We are passionate about underwater life – in the diving center you will find many books and albums from which you can learn about the rich fauna of the Red Sea.
Hurghada is one of the most popular diving destinations in Egypt and the Red Sea. With its sunny weather, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, Hurghada attracts divers of all levels and interests. Whether you’re looking for colorful reefs, exciting wrecks or abundant marine life, Hurghada has something for you. You can dive from the shore, from day boats or from a full board boat that will take you to the best snorkeling spots in the area. Here are some of the highlights of Hurghada scuba diving safari dive sites:
– Umm Gammar: It is a small island which lies about 5 km north of Hurghada. It is surrounded by a coastal reef that drops steeply to over 40 meters. The reef is covered with soft corals, gorgonians, sponges and sea anemones. Here you can see turtles, moray eels, lionfish, scorpionfish and other reef fish. The main attraction, however, is the Umm Gammar Wall on the eastern side of the island. It is a vertical wall that descends to over 100 meters and is frequented by pelagic fish such as tuna, horse mackerel, barracuda and archer. You may also spot gray reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, and occasionally hammerheads in the blue.
– Carless Reef: This is a double reef that lies about 10 km southeast of Hurghada. It has two coral peaks that rise from 20 meters to just below the surface. The peaks are connected by a saddle that is rich in coral and fish life. You can see shoals of antias, fusiliers, butterfly fish and angelfish here. You can also find nudibranchs, shrimp, crabs and other macro creatures hiding among the corals. The peaks are also frequented by larger fish such as napoleons,
giant trevally,
and barracudas.
The biggest advantage of this place is the shark point on the northern side of the reef. Here you can spot gray reef sharks and whitetip reef sharks
that patrol the area.
– Shaab El Erg: This is a large horseshoe-shaped reef,
which lies about 12 km north of Hurghada.
It has a shallow lagoon in the middle
which is perfect for snorkeling and novice divers.
The lagoon also has several coral peaks and grass meadows
that attract stingrays, dugongs and turtles. Outside the lagoon, there are also great dips and plateaus where you can see sharks, barracudas,
tuna and other big fish. The most famous spot on this reef is Dolphin House on the north side of the reef. It’s a natural lagoon that is home to a large herd of spotted dolphins that frequent the area.
